Looking Back at Our First Year

Last night I had the pleasure of speaking with two awesome ladies and fellow contributors here on MulticulturalFamilia.com, Amanda from MarocMama.com and Vanessa from DeSuMama.com.  During the live, one hour podcast, we talked about the birth of Multicultural Familia, which coincidentally, started via a multicultural blog hop.

What started as a few bloggers wanting to connect with families as diverse as their own, has now turned into a fully fledged online magazine and multicultural network.  We’re growing and I’m excited to look back and realize that some of the very first writers who joined me in that blog hop are still writing with us today.

Interview with Vanessa of DeSuMama.com

cuban blogger latina hispanic interracial multiracialVanessa is a mom of two living in Las Vegas, the “sin-less” city, as she calls it.  On Vanessa’s blog DeSuMama.com, she shares adorable photos of her children and talks often about parenting with culture and identity in mind.  Vanessa is a contributor on Multicultural Familia and has also contributed on Spanglish Baby about raising bilingual/bicultural niños.

In our interview with Vanessa, we talked about what it’s like now being the mom of two little ones, her childhood growing up Cuban in LA and how she uses her blog to help reinforce positive images of mixed families.

There is so much more good discussed in our convo though, so be sure to tune in below!

Also, we were unable to connect with Nadirah Angail during the podcast, so we’re inviting her to appear on an upcoming show where we’ll get the full scoop on everything that she’s working on, online and off.  ;)

Stay tuned for more details on our upcoming interview with her!
