Proposition 37 – Don’t Support Companies Who Hide GMOs, Vote With Your Dollar

The food fight over California’s historic Proposition 37 ballot initiative, which would require labeling of food products that contain GMO ingredients, is heating up, now that an influx of nearly $25 million in funding has been raised to oppose the measure.

Twenty-five million. Compare that to the California Right To Know campaign, which has raised approximately $2.6 million.

Obviously there are some large corporations that are shaking in their boots over this piece of important legislation. Why else would they fight so hard against putting 3 little letters on a food label? (For a good read on the sneaky ways of these conglomerates, check out this post: Food Giants Explain Why They Are Against Food Labeling).

Personally, I like to put my money where my mouth is. I am a huge supporter of Proposition 37 not just because I am a health conscious Californian but because it will literally pave the way for food labeling requirements all over the United States.

Seriously folks…you have the RIGHT to know what is in your food. What you do with that information is up to you. But you deserve to have full disclosure of what is going into your body.

With that being said, I would like to encourage you to support those companies who have donated to the California Right To Know campaign. These companies are honorable, ethical, and worth every penny you throw their way. On the flip side, I encourage you to vote with your wallet and stop purchasing products from the corporations who are fighting so hard against Proposition 37 with their big corporate dollars.
